3D Steel Detailing

We specialize in 3D and 4D structural detailing for structural steel, secondary/miscellaneous steel, access steelwork, and plate work. Utilizing Tekla Structures software, we create visual working models for client review. With over 40 years of industry experience leading our team, we are a prominent player in the field.

Our in-depth service leverages our extensive knowledge to ensure ease of fabrication and installation for our clients. We provide comprehensive 3D BIM models, customized fabrication shop drawings, detailed reports, material lists, and general arrangements for planning and installation, along with NC manufacturing data.

All our work undergoes rigorous accuracy checks and clash detection before fabrication release. We offer flexible services, including full BIM coordination, Strumis data, Fabtrol data, and IFC files, enabling our clients to utilize our information beyond fabrication and site details.

BIM & Collaboration

At KN Technical, we collaborate closely with clients from the pre-design phase onwards. We develop and track object-oriented BIM data against predicted and measured performance objectives. Our approach supports multi-disciplinary building information models that drive analysis, scheduling, take-offs, and logistics.

Virtual Construction Models

Aligned with BIM processes, our virtual construction models enable real-time simulation of construction sequences in 3D (space), 4D (time), and 5D (cost). This provides clients with a virtual project simulation, allowing early identification of coordination challenges and project constraints during the initial stages.

Design Co-ordination & Project Management

With our extensive experience, we can act on your behalf and take on the technical co-ordination of your project, working closely with the client's professional team (architects / engineers) and any sub-trades to coordinate interface details with the steel frame (glazing, cladding, civils, M&E services etc).

Site Survey

We understand the critical importance of accurate site surveys, especially for challenging projects with existing constraints and interfaces. Often, survey information falls short of expectations, leading to multiple surveys, increased costs, and project delays.

Estimating / Material Take Off

Using Tekla Structures, we can assist your estimating and bid teams by creating a 3D tender model. This helps reduce the workload on your in-house estimating team by providing a detailed bill of quantities. Additionally, it aids in project visualization and offers excellent tools for sales and presentations.
