We use the latest CAD software and offer a full Building Information Modelling (BIM) & detailing service to steelwork fabricators, main contractors, architects, consulting engineers and all of our work complies with national or international standards and project specific specifications. We work closely with our clients to ensure that we fully adhere to your own specific detailing standards and procedures.
3D STEEL DETAILING
We provide 3D / 4D structural detailing for structural steel, secondary / miscellaneous steel, access steelwork and plate work. We typically use Tekla Structures software which allows us to produce a visual working model for review with our clients. Using Tekla and having detailers with over 40 years in the industry heading up the business enables us to be a leading player.
We provide an in-depth service by way of using our wealth of knowledge to translate into our detailing work ensuring ease of fabrication and installation for our clients. As a standard we provide full working 3D BIM models, customised fabrication shop drawings, full reports and material lists, general arrangements for planning and installation along with NC manufacturing data.
All our work is checked for accuracy and clash checks carried out before releasing for fabrication. We are flexible in our services and can also offer full BIM co-ordination, Strumis data, Fabtrol data, and IFC files which enables our clients to use our information for more than just fabrication and site details.
BIM & COLLABORATION
KN Technical will work closely with the client from the pre-design phase onwards to develop and to track the object-oriented BIM data against predicted and measured performance objectives, supporting multi-disciplinary building information models that drive analysis, schedules, take-off and logistics.

VIRTUAL CONSTRUCTION MODELS
Closely aligned with BIM processes, virtual construction models allow us to simulate a real time construction sequence in 3D (space) / 4D (time) / 5D (cost). This provides our clients with a virtual simulation of the project, allowing early identification of any co-ordination challenges and project constraints during early stages.
